Mother Knows Best

Tuesday, December 15th, 2009

Summertime is here again…and as a mother, I do not want my kids to stay longer outside the house because I know that during this season, kids are prone to different kinds of allergies and skin diseases such as prickly heat, chicken pox, sore eyes ans measles.

We all know that children prefer to stay outside because it is the only time that they can play with their playmates since it is vacation time. However, I have heard from the news of prevalent disease like measles and sore eyes in different areas. And because this kind of disease can easily infect children, I am trying my best so that my children will avoid this virus. I don’t care if others thought that I am an over-protective mom, I only want my kids get out of such ailment. And no one can blame me because I had experience this ailment when I was a child. My mother told me not to get out of the house then, but I was very stubborn that time that I disobey my mother’s command. One day, I noticed some rashes in my tummy and suddenly spread out on all parts of my body. I even got high fever then that I was rushed to the hospital. We soon found out then that measles attacked me.

When I was treated, I promised to obey my parents from then on. I have learned my lesson that mother always knows best for her children.

The Family Vacation

Tuesday, December 8th, 2009

Every time that summer comes,my children are very excited because they know that this is the only time that we can be able to spend our time together in an out of town location.

Usually, we spend our vacation with my parents who lives in a farm. My kids really enjoy picking fruits in the trees inside the backyard. There are also planted vegetables that they use to harvest. We also love to hear my father playing guitar while my mother sings, then afterwards, my children dances. How I truly missed those days. But my parents left their farm to live with my younger sister who works and stays in a foreign country. That is why; my husband decides to spend our vacation in a beach resort this time. When our children heard their father’s plan, they suggested some places that they think could be an ideal spot to stay for a while  to enjoy our swimming activity. Later, I have learned that my husband already had a reservation in a private resort and he is just waiting for his salary loan to release to use in our vacation.

We really enjoy our first summer vacation in a beach and my children are looking forward to repeat the very exciting experience next year.
